Strategic turning point in the development of Oriental medicine of Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital

On the afternoon of May 22, a conference was held to evaluate 1 year of implementing the cooperation and support agreement between the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy and Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital.

Attending the conference were: Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of Nghe An Department of Health; Mr. Tran Minh Tue - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health; Dr. Huynh Nguyen Loc - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy; Dr. Ho Van Thang - Director of Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital; and representatives of the leaders of the two units.

Hospital quality is improved

Reporting at the conference, Dr. Ho Van Thang - Director of Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital affirmed that the cooperation and support agreement signed with the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy, implemented from June 28, 2019, is a new and strategic direction; with the goal of sustainable development of the hospital.

Over the past year, the Institute has transferred a new technique: “Rigid endoscopic intervention - Sclerotherapy of hemorrhoids” using PG60 medicine to Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital. The superior new technique has performed 2,895 sclerotherapy injections for more than 300 patients, gradually affirming the brand of Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital.

Experts, doctors and nurses of the Institute have directly instructed some methods of medical examination and treatment orientation to achieve the best results; at the same time, directly trained and instructed the preparation of Oriental medicine and preparation of finished Oriental medicine products for the Hospital's doctors and nurses.

Before the signing of the minutes, the quality management of Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital was in the lowest group in the system of traditional medicine hospitals, only reaching 2.17; medical equipment was limited and not synchronized. Thanks to the support, training and development of the Institute, in 2019, the quality management of the Hospital reached 3.3 points...

Strong expertise, thanks to which the number of patients coming to visit and receive treatment at the Hospital has increased dramatically compared to the same period last year, at one point, there were nearly 900 inpatients; thereby creating opportunities for the Hospital to have revenue to purchase modern equipment for medical examination and treatment.

On January 6, 2020, Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital hasUhThe People's Committee of Nghe An province approved the project of autonomy, self-responsibility in performing tasks, organizing apparatus, personnel and finance,UhEntering a new stage of development and increasing the scale of the businessUhThe disease is up to 450 hours.UhThe number of patients by 2022 will be 550.UhIn 2020, the Hospital increased its total to 5 functional departments and 14 departments.

Regarding the hospital's development orientation in the coming time, Mr. Ho Van Thang affirmed:Continue to promote and develop existing strengths; Focus on hospital quality management, improve the quality of medical examination and treatment.Training and developing human resources to become increasingly professional and work effectively.Promote the production of diverse types of high-quality drugs; include drug products in the health insurance list; supply drugs to provincial medical facilities.

Studying and developing professional fields are the strengths of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy, which are medical tourism, high-level technical expertise, and production of traditional medicine.
