(Baonghean.vn) - Ha and Sua sold nearly 6 kg of drugs to customers for nearly 800 million VND. With an especially large amount of drugs, Ha was sentenced to death, Sua received a life sentence.
On July 28, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened a first-instance criminal trial to try two defendants, Va Ba Ha (born 1993), residing in Bac Ly commune, Ky Son district, and Ho Ba Sua (born 1989), residing in Nam Can commune, Ky Son district, for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking”.
Around October 2020, while working in Xieng Khouang province (Laos), Ha met a man named Denh Ba Chu. This man asked Ha to find customers to buy drugs, promising to pay him.

In early May 2021, a man contacted Ha, saying he wanted to buy drugs. Ha quoted $9,000 for 2 heroin cakes and $6,000 for 1kg of crystal meth.
On May 27, 2021, Chu called Ha and said he had 6 kg of crystal meth, which was the "goods" he planned to bring to the North to sell, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he could not go. Ha then contacted the customer to sell the drugs.
After the discussion, this person agreed to buy 6 kg of crystal meth for 36,000 USD (about 800 million VND). The two parties agreed on a time and place for delivery.
Hearing Ha say there was a buyer, Chu told Ha to return to Vietnam to meet the customer, receive the money and give it to Chu. Here, Chu would pay Ha the wages, and someone else would deliver the goods.
After returning to Vietnam, on the afternoon of May 29, 2021, a man named Cho (unknown background and address) called and made an appointment to meet Ha in Thach Giam town, Tuong Duong district.
Cho rode a motorbike carrying 6 blocks of drugs (weighing nearly 6 kg). Ha Ba Sua rode a motorbike to scout the way and keep watch for Cho to sell drugs. Cho promised to pay Sua 15 million VND for the job.
At 8:45 p.m. the same day, on National Highway 7, in Thach Giam town, when Ha, Sua, Cho and the customer were preparing to make a transaction, the police raided and arrested them. Cho ran into the forest, and the customer also escaped.
At the trial, Ha initially denied the crime, saying he did not buy or sell drugs. However, the defendant later admitted to the crime. Defendant Sua said he only scouted the way and kept watch for Cho and did not directly trade drugs with customers.
After considering the role of each defendant in the case, the court sentenced defendant Va Ba Ha to death. Defendant Ho Ba Sua, as a secondary accomplice, was sentenced to life in prison for the crime of illegal drug trafficking.
