(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 1st, a mass fish kill occurred at the beach in Quynh Long commune, Quynh Luu district (Nghe An province), with dead fish washing ashore.

According to many locals, in recent days, hundreds of kilograms of dead fish have been washing ashore daily along the beaches of Quynh Long commune, especially Hang Beach, Hoa Beach, and Phu Lien village beach.

After each wave recedes, countless dead fish appear on the sandy shore.

Seeing this scene, many locals rushed to the beach from early morning to collect the fish to take home. Each person could collect about 2-3 kg of fish in a day.

According to some experienced fishermen, such a large number of fish have never happened before. One possible cause of the mass fish deaths is the use of electric shock fishing methods with double trawls.

According to Decree 33/2010, trawlers with a power of 90 HP must operate offshore, but many trawlers do not comply with this regulation.
