Ca Mau inaugurated the memorial monument and received the National Monument Ranking Certificate for the gathering place to the North.
On the evening of November 16, Ca Mau province solemnly held the inauguration ceremony of the Monument commemorating the 1954 Northward train and received the certificate of national monument ranking for the Northward train assembly site in Song Doc town, Tran Van Thoi district.
The welcoming ceremony welcomed comrade Dinh Thi Mai, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department and representatives of leaders of central departments and branches.
On the provincial leadership side, there were: Comrade Nguyen Duc Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Pham Thanh Ngai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Comrade Le Thi Nhung, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Comrade Le Thanh Trieu, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province. In addition, there were representatives of leaders of provinces and cities from Quang Tri to Ca Mau and former provincial leaders through the terms.

The project has a construction scale of over 10 hectares, with a total investment of nearly 200 billion VND. This is one of 7 projects to welcome the 17th Congress of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030. The completed project will promote the historical, cultural values, and heroic revolutionary traditions of the Southern people in general and Ca Mau province in particular, contributing to educating history and patriotic traditions for today's and tomorrow's young generations.

This will be a highlight of Song Doc urban area, connecting with infrastructure and other works to serve cultural and tourism activities, contributing to promoting local socio-economic development.
To recognize individuals who donated documents, images, artifacts, and memorabilia of cadres, soldiers, and compatriots from the South who gathered in the North in 1954; the Provincial People's Committee decided to award certificates of merit to 5 individuals who were witnesses and representatives of relatives of those who participated in the gathering and donated artifacts.

In addition, the provincial leaders also awarded certificates of merit to individuals who contributed to the construction of the Monument of the Train to the North, and certificates of merit to the sponsoring unit, expressing deep gratitude to the units that accompanied the province in the event.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Thanh Ngai emphasized: "The 1954 regrouping event was a strategic military transfer aimed at sending cadres, soldiers, and students from the South to the North to work and study to train cadres for the Southern revolution, build a socialist North, and create a solid rear base to completely liberate the South and unify the country; at the same time, taking advantage of the time in the regrouping area, together with the people, to urgently build a new life."


Promoting the revolutionary spirit of the 70th anniversary of the North's regrouping, respecting the historical and cultural values of the nation, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested local authorities and related sectors and levels to urgently have specific plans to manage, preserve and promote the value of the project effectively and practically; strengthen traditional education activities for the younger generation about patriotism, deep gratitude to the generations of fathers and brothers who have made many contributions and sacrifices for the cause of national liberation and unification, arousing national pride and the desire to contribute to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; exploiting the values of the relic to serve tourism, develop the marine economy, invest in developing this place to become a typical cultural project of the province.
