Singer Ariana Grande 'heartbroken' after Manchester Arena attack

On Twitter, she posted: “So heartbroken. From the bottom of my heart, I am truly sorry. I have no words.”

Meanwhile, supporters of the Islamic State (IS) group celebrated on social media on Tuesday after a deadly blast that killed at least 19 people, although the group has not officially claimed responsibility. Twitter accounts linked to IS used hashtags praising those who carried out the attack, while others encouraged similar attacks elsewhere.

“It seems that the British air force bombings of children in Mosul and Raqqa have returned to Manchester,” said Abdul Haqq.

Supporters also posted messages advocating “lone wolf” attacks in the West, and shared IS videos threatening the US and Europe.

The explosion has so far killed at least 19 people and injured nearly 60 others. The explosion occurred outside the Manchester Arena stadium in the city of Manchester, northern England, shortly after the end of a performance by singer Ariana Grande.
