Vietnamese singer drowns after a month missing

On June 20, the family posted a notice that they had lost all contact with young singer Duong Hung Khanh. After nearly a month, they received news that he had passed away at the age of 24 due to drowning.

Sharing with Zing.vn, the younger brother of young singer Duong Hung Khanh confirmed that the 24-year-old male singer died of drowning in the Phu Da sandbank area, Ben Tre province. However, the cause of his drowning has not yet been found by authorities. On July 15, his family was present in Ben Tre to bring his body back to his hometown. Today (July 17), Duong Hung Khanh was buried in his hometown in Ha Tinh.

Friends of the singer Suddenly Sad confided that they were shocked and bewildered when they heard the news of his sudden death. On the official Facebook page, the management company said that on July 15, many colleagues also accompanied the family to Ben Tre to send Duong Hung Khanh to his final resting place.

Previously, his relatives had lost contact with him since June 20. His family had to ask friends and netizens to share information about him on social media in the hope of finding the young singer soon. But no one thought that Duong Hung Khanh had passed away.

Duong Hung Khanh's younger brother said: "The family posted a search notice last month after completely losing contact with him. A few days ago, the Ben Tre provincial police contacted the family to say they found the body of a person suspected to be him, along with identification papers, ATM cards and invited family members to come and confirm his identity."

"When arriving in Ben Tre, the family still hoped this was just a misunderstanding and did not believe he had passed away," the singer's younger brother added.

When arriving at the scene of the incident, Duong Hung Khanh's body had been recovered by local people since June 23. "Everyone has temporarily buried him and is waiting for relatives to come and claim him. The family still doesn't know the exact time of his death, only that he drowned. Yesterday, he was able to return home," the singer's younger brother added.

Before going missing, the male singer shared many sad messages on his personal page. His most recent status on Facebook was written on June 16, wishing everyone happiness.

Singer Duong Hung Khanh, real name Vo Thuc Dinh, was born on October 18, 1993 in Ha Tinh in a family of two brothers. Passionate about singing, the young singer moved to the South to start a career after graduating from the Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Music.

In 1993, at the age of 20, Duong Hung Khanh won first prize at a singing contest for students in Ho Chi Minh City. Introduced as being able to sing both folk and pop music, he released the single Sến and the album Anh luong sau em.

A representative of the management company said that before he passed away, Duong Hung Khanh had one music product that had not been released yet.
