((NAO) -The short news of Nghe An electronic newspaper on March 14 reported: fisherman Nguyen Van Thanh residing in Xuan Lan hamlet, Nghi Xuan commune, Nghi Loc district (Nghe An) on March 12, 2008, caught a 58kg yellow tiger fish that was sold for 525 million VND, causing a stir in public opinion: why is yellow tiger fish so expensive?
However, this is not the first time Nghi Loc fishermen have caught a goldfish. About 10 years ago (1998), Mr. Nguyen Vo Thanh caught a 78 kg golden tiger fish and sold it for 163 million VND. In 1999, Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuc caught a 45 kg fish and sold it for 100 million VND. After a while, in 2005, a fisherman (name unknown) also caught a 62 kg golden tiger fish and sold it for 421 million VND.

The record price for a golden giant freshwater fish caught by a fisherman in the southern waters of Guangdong province, China in 2007, this fish with yellow scales, 1.75 meters long, weighing 49 kg, was sold for 75,000 USD.
Why is the price of the golden tiger fish so high? There are many different opinions about this issue. The Chinese consider the goldfish a symbol of wealth and luck, so the rich are willing to spend a large amount of money to own this special rare fish, with the hope of making a fortune and having a smooth business. According to experts, the bladder of the golden tiger fish is used to produce a special type of suture in medical surgery, and because the demand is greater than the supply, the goldfish is as expensive as gold.
