Young SLNA players seek opportunities at Phu Dong Club
(Baonghean.vn) - Throughout the past week, three young faces in the SLNA U21 team, Nguyen Duc Toan, Nguyen Duc Long and Tran Tien Anh, have been practicing with coach Nguyen Trung Kien and his team.
Because they were not in coach Ngo Quang Truong’s plan, Nguyen Duc Toan, Nguyen Duc Long and Tran Tien Anh had to pack their bags and leave Vinh Stadium to seek career development opportunities at other teams. And Phu Dong Club was the first stop on the “job hunting” journey of the three players mentioned above.
Although they have never worn the SLNA jersey to compete in the V.League or National Cup, Nguyen Duc Toan, Nguyen Duc Long and Tran Tien Anh are all familiar faces to experts and football fans in Nghe An, as they have left many impressions at the U15, U17, U19 and U21 National Finals.

These are players from the 1999-2000 generation, one of the generations that has been highly rated in terms of quality from SLNA in recent times. In addition to Nguyen Duc Toan, Nguyen Duc Long and Tran Tien Anh, this generation also includes Duong Van Cuong, Le Thanh Lam, Dang Van Lam, Tran Ngoc Anh, Nguyen Van Viet - currently on the SLNA first team.
Last season, striker Tran Tien Anh played for the First Division team XSKT Can Tho, while the defender duo Nguyen Duc Toan - Nguyen Duc Long played for the Third Division team Tuan Tu Phu Tho, both on loan. It is known that in the past, defender Nguyen Duc Long was a member of the Vietnam U16 team that participated in the 2016 AFC U16 Championship, under coach Dinh The Nam.
If retained by Phu Dong Club to play in the 2020 season, Nguyen Duc Toan, Nguyen Duc Long and Tran Tien Anh will be playing alongside two former SLNA players, goalkeeper Le Quang Dai and midfielder Truong Van Thanh./.
