The recent rain also caused 54 hectares of corn in Dien Thanh commune to fall. Ms. Le Thi Huong - an agricultural officer of the commune said: After the rain, the commune focused on instructing people to rebuild the trees and fertilize them properly so that the trees could grow again. The damaged vegetable area was replanted with new beds and planted to ensure the season.
Ms. Tran Thi Tai, Hamlet 10, Dien Thanh Commune, planted 4 sao of various vegetables this winter. Right from the day the storm ended, she went to the field early to dig ditches to drain the water for peanuts in time and replanted vegetables. Based on her experience in growing perennial winter crops, in the rainy season of August of the lunar calendar, priority will be given to growing seedlings in high fields. In September and October, large-scale planting will be done. Thanks to strictly following this farming calendar, her family is not affected much every time the rainy season comes.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Duc - Head of the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection recommends: For newly sown corn areas, due to waterlogging, they cannot germinate, they need to be re-sown, areas with 2-3 leaves or more that have fallen, farmers should rebuild them, combine intercropping with corn in the dead areas, and at the same time, plow and break the soil crust, creating conditions for root development to apply potassium fertilizer. When corn and vegetables in general have taken root, farmers need to use foliar fertilizer and basal fertilizer to take care of them.
This is a later winter crop than previous years, so localities have directed people to actively close the planned area and take regular care to harvest on time.
