Local authorities receive and distribute rice to poor people for the Lunar New Year celebration.
- Tuong Duong district has just received 250 tons of rice to support poor people during the Lunar New Year of Quy Ty and the lean season of 2013.
According to the plan, this time the entire district has 18 communes and towns receiving rice distribution, totaling over 9,700 households with more than 16,600 people. On average, each person receives 15 kg of rice per month. Units such as Nga My, Yen Na, Yen Thang, and Luong Minh, which are remote and disadvantaged communes, were prioritized with larger distributions.
Immediately after the rice arrived at the district center, the District People's Committee mobilized local vehicles and hired motorboats to transport the rice to remote and rural communes. For communes located further out along National Highway 7, the district assigned officials to accompany the vehicles transporting the rice to the commune centers for distribution to villages and hamlets. Thanks to meticulous planning, within just two days, January 26th and 27th, Tuong Duong completed the rice distribution to all communes and towns in the entire district.

Accordingly, the district's plan is to distribute the entire amount of rice to 40 communes and towns in the district, prioritizing mountainous communes that were severely affected by recent storms and floods. Two communes in resettlement areas received 142 tons of rice, more than one-third of the total rice allocated to the entire district.
