(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of October 16th, many localities in the province launched a campaign to provide free measles-rubella vaccinations for children aged 1 to 14 years old.

On the morning of October 16th, Hoang Mai town launched a campaign to provide free measles-rubella vaccinations to 27,572 children aged 1 to 14 years old in the town.

Vaccinations are being administered to children aged 1 to 14 years in the area.

On the morning of October 16th, children aged 2 to 5 years old will receive free vaccinations at preschools throughout the area. For 1-year-old children, vaccinations will be held on October 17th at local health centers.

In the first phase of the campaign, from October 16th to 22nd, over 6,000 children will be vaccinated. The second and third phases will be held in December 2014 and February 2015, respectively. The health sector of Hoang Mai town has assigned staff to supervise and direct the vaccination process in accordance with health regulations. The vaccination process is strictly implemented, from screening and consultation to vaccination, post-vaccination monitoring, and with the exclusion of children with contraindications. According to a quick summary, by the end of the morning of October 16th, 2,377 children had been safely vaccinated, with no adverse events reported.

* On the morning of October 16th, Do Luong district held a ceremony to launch a campaign to vaccinate children aged 1-14 against measles and rubella in the area.

According to the plan, the measles and rubella vaccination campaign in Do Luong district will be carried out from October 16, 2014 to January 31, 2015 and will be divided into 3 phases. Over 41,000 children in the district will receive one dose of the measles and rubella vaccine.

Immediately after the launch ceremony, Do Luong district organized vaccinations in 11 communes, then reviewed the experience and proceeded to vaccinate the remaining 22 communes and towns, striving to complete the first vaccination phase for children aged 1 to 5 years old throughout the district by October 31st. To ensure the success of this vaccination campaign, the Do Luong district campaign steering committee will organize regular visits to the grassroots level to inspect, supervise, and guide implementation, ensuring compliance with regulations and guaranteeing 100% vaccination coverage for all children.

On October 16th, 10 communes implemented the measles-rubella vaccination campaign. The campaign received a positive response from the community. Parents proactively brought their children to be vaccinated. At the vaccination sites, reception desks, record-keeping desks, screening and triage desks, vaccination desks, and post-vaccination monitoring areas were conveniently arranged. The vaccination process was carried out by health workers according to regulations, from calling names, screening, counseling, vaccination, post-vaccination monitoring, and withholding vaccinations for children with contraindications. Parents expressed reassurance and satisfaction at seeing their children being received and vaccinated attentively.

The 2014-2015 Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign will take place from October 2014 to February 2015, implemented simultaneously across all 33 communes and towns in the district. Children aged 1-14 years will receive one dose of measles-rubella vaccine during the campaign, regardless of their previous vaccination history against measles, measles-rubella, or measles-mumps-rubella. Approximately 80,000 children are expected to be vaccinated.
