On the morning of October 16, Hoang Mai town launched a campaign to provide free measles-rubella vaccinations to 27,572 children aged 1 to 14 in the town.

On the morning of October 16, children aged 2 to 5 will be vaccinated for free at local preschools. As for 1-year-old children, vaccination will be organized on October 17 at local health stations.
In the first phase of the campaign, from October 16 to 22, over 6,000 children will be vaccinated. Phases 2 and 3 will be held in December 2014 and February 2015. The health sector of Hoang Mai town will arrange staff to supervise and direct the vaccination in accordance with the regulations of the health sector. The vaccination process is strictly implemented from screening, counseling, vaccination, post-vaccination monitoring and not vaccinating children with contraindications. According to a quick summary, by the end of the morning of October 16, 2,377 children were safely vaccinated, with no adverse events occurring.

According to the plan, the measles and rubella vaccination campaign in Do Luong district will be carried out from October 16, 2014 to January 31, 2015 and will be divided into 3 phases. The whole district has over 41 thousand children vaccinated with 1 dose of measles and rubella vaccine.

The 2014-2015 Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign will take place from October 2014 to February 2015, and will be deployed simultaneously in 33 communes and towns throughout the district. The target group for vaccination is children aged 1-14 years old who will receive one dose of measles-rubella vaccine during the campaign, regardless of their previous vaccination history with measles vaccine, measles-rubella vaccine, or measles-mumps-rubella vaccine. The target group for the campaign is expected to be about 80,000 children.
