Congratulating the Nghe An Department of Health, the Deputy Commander of Military Region 4 highly appreciated the achievements of the provincial health sector in the past period, which have fostered a spirit of solidarity, overcome difficulties, expanded the health network, improved professional skills, applied new and modern treatment methods, and effectively implemented health insurance for eligible individuals. The Deputy Commander of Military Region 4 wished the health officials and staff of Nghe An province to always uphold a high sense of responsibility, develop their capabilities and professional ethics in performing their duties and tasks. He hoped that the Nghe An Department of Health would continue to direct grassroots health forces to closely coordinate with hospitals, clinics, and military medical forces of units under Military Region 4 to effectively implement the 12-point military-civilian medical cooperation program and perform well the task of providing healthcare for soldiers and civilians in the area.

At the medical facilities, the delegation from the Provincial Border Guard Command presented flowers to congratulate the doctors, nurses, and staff on their traditional day. Representatives from the Provincial Border Guard Command acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the medical staff at these facilities over the past period. They also expressed their hope that in the future, the medical team will gradually improve the quality of medical care for the people and Border Guard officers and soldiers. On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Police leadership, Colonel Nguyen Tien Dan, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, warmly congratulated the leaders and all the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Provincial Friendship General Hospital, the Oncology Hospital, the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, the Traditional Medicine Hospital, the Psychiatric Hospital, the Eye Hospital, the Regulatory Hospital, and the Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital. Over the past year, the district's health sector has addressed and overcome shortcomings, prevented and controlled outbreaks of disease, improved the quality of medical examination and treatment, and modernized diagnostic imaging equipment, thereby enhancing the quality and meeting the growing healthcare needs of the people. Currently, Nghia Dan has 17 out of 25 communes and towns meeting national standards for healthcare (accounting for 68%), 23 out of 25 commune health stations have doctors, the rate of malnourished children is 15.3%, and measles-rubella vaccination rates are over 90%.
After hearing a brief report on the situation of medical examinations and treatment, as well as the activities of the units in the past period, the district leaders praised the sense of responsibility and the results of serving patients by the team of doctors, nurses, and staff of the health sector. At the same time, they reminded the medical staff of the district to strive even harder, improve their professional skills and medical ethics, and effectively implement the "Learning and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh" campaign and President Ho Chi Minh's teaching, "A good doctor is like a loving mother."

The ceremony commemorated the glorious 60th anniversary of Vietnam's Doctors' Day. Over the past 60 years, the healthcare sector nationwide, and in Quynh Luu district in particular, has made significant progress and advancements. Infrastructure and the quality of medical examination and treatment have been increasingly invested in and improved. Specifically in Quynh Luu district, over the past five years (2010-2014), the district's healthcare sector has made many efforts and achieved remarkable results. The district has 436 doctors, a ratio of 3.2 doctors per 10,000 people. By the end of 2014, more than 140,000 people participated in health insurance, accounting for 53.55%. 23 communes met national standards for healthcare. Disease prevention and control, and environmental sanitation have been emphasized and effectively implemented, with virtually no outbreaks of disease during the five-year period. Communes and towns have focused on promoting environmental sanitation and disease prevention. National target programs for immunizing children under 12 months old have achieved high rates and no adverse events. The malnutrition rate among children under 5 years old has decreased from 19.05% in 2010 to 14.03% currently. The rate of children receiving Vitamin A supplements and pregnant women receiving tetanus vaccines has reached 100%.
Thanks to continuous efforts over the past period, at the ceremony, Quynh Luu District General Hospital was awarded the ISO 9001-2008 certification, and three communes, namely Quynh Doi, Quynh Lam, and Quynh Dien, were awarded certificates for meeting national criteria for healthcare in 2014.

*On the morning of February 26th, the People's Committee of Anh Son district organized a seminar to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27th, 1955 - February 27th, 2015).
Currently, Anh Son district has 373 healthcare workers, including 252 at the district level, 121 at the commune level, and 252 at the village level. 12 out of 21 communes have doctors. Medical and traditional medicine practices operate in an orderly manner and according to professional regulations. There is good coordination between state-run healthcare and traditional and modern medicine. Health communication and education are also important. In collaboration with mass media, the hospital promotes awareness of healthcare among the community. For the past three years, Anh Son General Hospital has collaborated with the Red Cross to provide free meals for impoverished patients.

Speaking at the seminar, District Party Secretary Le Hong Vinh acknowledged the contributions of the health sector in recent times, fulfilling President Ho Chi Minh's teaching that "doctors are like kind mothers." On this occasion, the district leaders presented the doctors with beautiful bouquets of flowers.
