Agricultural projects in Nghe An achieved many good results.
(Baonghean.vn) - Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed this at the meeting of the Joint Coordination Board of the technical cooperation project on agricultural development planning in Nghe An held on the afternoon of September 27 in Vinh city.
Attending the conference were representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Embassy of Japan, and the JICA Vietnam Office.

At the meeting, the Project Coordination Board listened to the reports presented by the Project Management Board and the Project Consulting Team, and gave their opinions for discussion. The contents focused on: Reviewing the results of the project implementation in the past time and identifying specific tasks that need to be performed in the coming time; Progress and Future Vision of the Agricultural Market Forum; Master Plan and Action Plan drafted by the Consulting Team.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that up to now, the project has achieved many good results. Specifically in some contents such as:
Regarding implementation progress: The project has organized 5 domestic market exchange workshops and 3 international market exchange workshops. At the same time, the agricultural market forum has also organized and participated in trade fairs in Nghe An province and some other localities; 42 pilot projects have been implemented to create models of food value chains in Nghe An province. The project has created 12 models of food value chains including oranges, grapefruits, potatoes, local chickens... and is testing the feasibility of the 12 models...

Regarding the Agricultural Market Forum, the members agreed on the results achieved and the key tasks from now until the end of the project. After the end of the project, the Management Board and the Project Consulting Team will continue to research to reach an agreement. Specifically, it can be in the following direction: The Agricultural Market Forum can be located at the Department of Agriculture or the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center; the forum's operating budget is undertaken by the provincial budget, arranged annually through the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center.
Regarding the Master Plan and Action Plan: The JICA Consulting Team proposed an agricultural development strategy for Nghe An province, including 3 Value Chain Development (CGT) policies and 4 Value Chain Development Strategic Zones; The direction of value chain development is determined based on the characteristics of each strategic zone and promoting value chain development according to the above development policies; The JICA Consulting Team proposed a total of 32 action plans...
Regarding the upcoming plan, the Master Plan and Draft Action Plan will be completed by the end of November and shared with the Vietnamese side for review. Prioritization of action plans will be evaluated based on the evaluation criteria; Finalization of the Master Plan and Final Action Plan.
