Western districts light candles to pay tribute to heroic martyrs
(Baonghean.vn) - Joining the atmosphere of the whole country remembering and paying tribute to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation, on the evening of July 26, many districts in Western Nghe An held a candlelighting ceremony to pay tribute.

This activity is part of the 70th anniversary celebration of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2017).
In Tuong Duong district, a candlelighting ceremony was organized by the District Youth Union. During the memorial night, delegates, youth union members and a large number of people offered wreaths, incense and lit candles to express their gratitude and admiration for the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

During the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, Tuong Duong district had 300 martyrs sacrificed on the battlefields; 300 wounded soldiers and policy beneficiaries, 488 families with meritorious services to the revolution. The district martyrs cemetery is the resting place of 21 heroic martyrs.

Before the souls of heroes and martyrs, the youth of Tuong Duong district vows to promote the heroic tradition of previous generations, together striving to compete in studying, training, working and producing to be more worthy of the great contributions of heroes and martyrs.

Also on the night of July 26, in the remote district of Ky Son, despite heavy rain, nearly 200 youth union members and a large number of people participated in the Candle Lighting Ceremony.

63 candles lit on the graves of 63 martyrs resting at Ky Son District Cemetery is the admiration and pride of today's generations for the dedication and sacrifice of the heroic martyrs - the outstanding children of the land of the Fatherland.

Also on the same evening, Que Phong District Youth Union held a ceremony to offer incense and flowers at the district martyrs cemetery. Attending the ceremony were leaders of the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and a large number of people in Que Phong district.

Que Phong district martyrs' cemetery is the resting place of 25 martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives in the nation's resistance wars to save the country.

Previously, on July 24, Que Phong district organized a gathering and welcoming of 9 martyrs' remains who died on the Southern battlefield to rest at their hometown martyrs' cemetery./.
