Common errors of the cooling system on motorbikes
(Baonghean.vn) - The cooling system on a motorbike helps the engine not to overheat quickly, the vehicle operates better... Below are common damages of the cooling system that need to be promptly repaired to avoid more serious damage to the vehicle.
1. Clogged radiator

The radiator is made of aluminum with high heat dissipation and consists of many small flat tubes. A clogged radiator can lead to many unpredictable consequences such as the engine overheating quickly, unstable operation, and over time can lead to engine seizure.
The reason is that car users do not regularly change the coolant, causing the additives in the coolant to deteriorate, combined with impurities when the engine is running, causing accumulation in the radiator pipes, causing the radiator to become clogged.
When detecting errors, it is necessary to clear the residue in the radiator; periodically change the coolant for the vehicle to ensure engine operation and avoid overheating.
2. Thermostat failure
If the engine is hot after a few minutes of starting, check the belts for wear, slack or bending.
The common cause is a faulty thermostat. When the engine is first started, the temperature is low, the pump circulates water in the engine, to warm it up to create conditions for better mixing of air and gasoline. But when the temperature reaches 80 degrees Celsius, the thermostat opens, water flows through the radiator to cool it. If this valve is faulty, the water will not be cooled, causing the engine temperature to skyrocket.
3. Coolant pipe leaking

Motorcycle cooling system water pipes are usually made of rubber. During use, due to long-term use or external impact, these pipes can have aging joints, cracks or holes, causing water to leak out.
To fix this error, just use a specialized glue to fix small leaks in the pipes that cause water leakage. With large cracks and breaks in the pipes, you have to replace these pipes, which are not expensive.
4. Water overflow from the auxiliary tank

The coolant reservoir is a part that stores and replenishes coolant for the vehicle's cooling system, operating when there is a shortage or excess of water through the radiator cap. The reason is that the engine is operating, causing the coolant to overheat, creating a higher pressure than normal, causing water to be pushed out from the reservoir, or due to damage to the hose connecting the reservoir.
In this case, you should check the vehicle's cooling system and the auxiliary tank connection pipe. Regularly change the engine coolant to avoid leaving it for a long time when operating and the coolant loses its effect, causing the engine to overheat quickly.
