(Baonghean.vn) - On March 21, 2017, working with Que Phong district, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh directed that by the end of June 2017, 5 mineral mines that have stopped exploitation for many years in this locality must complete the work of land reclamation and mine closure according to the provisions of law.
Although relevant agencies have taken action, due to the difficult terrain of the mines, bad weather, large workload while funding is not yet guaranteed, the land reclamation work is still unfinished. Nghe An Newspaper reporters grasped the current situation at the mining sites that have been and are carrying out land reclamation.

However, there is still a mining site of the Central General Construction Company Limited with an area of over 100m2 in Na Nieng village that has not been implemented. Regarding the reason, according to the technical staff of the construction unit, the people of Na Nieng village have not agreed because they think that leveling, when there is rain and flood, will affect the fields. The mine area exploited by Ngoc Sang Company Limited in Pieng Lom village has been completed about 70% so far. The reason is that Que Phong has had a lot of rain recently, so construction cannot be carried out. Photo by Pham Bang |

According to the progress report on mine closure by the People's Committee of Que Phong district, the gold mining area carried out by Tan Hong Import-Export Joint Stock Company in Quang Phong and Cam Lom communes has so far only completed about 30% of the volume of land reclamation. The reason is that the mining sites are about 10km long, many roads are broken, the weather is bad and the budget is not guaranteed. Therefore, the People's Committee of Que Phong district has reported to the Provincial People's Committee, in which it is proposed to balance additional budget and extend the time to complete the land reclamation work to the end of July 2017.
