Dominican leaders find inspiration in Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh

(Baonghean.vn) - In friendly and open exchanges and contacts with members of the delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Dominican leaders all said that they "were inspired by Vietnam, by the Vietnamese revolution and President Ho Chi Minh, by the five-pointed yellow star on the Vietnamese flag".

On May 24, the delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam carried out the first working day of the program of visiting and working in the Dominican Republic - an island nation located in the eastern Caribbean Gulf.

Comrade Phan Dinh Trac - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform led the delegation. Accompanying him were Comrade Phan Viet Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Phan Gia Tuc - Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee. Also participating were Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba and Dominican Republic Nguyen Trung Thanh; and a number of members of central ministries, agencies and branches.

On the morning of May 24, the delegation met and worked with President of the Dominican House of Representatives Rahamed Camachô - member of the Politburo of the ruling Liberation Party (PLD); Dominican Minister of the Interior and Public Security José Ramón Fadun, member of the Politburo of the ruling Liberation Party (PLD); Director of the National Ethics and Integrity Agency, member of the Politburo of the ruling Liberation Party (PLD) Li-di-o Ca-det Himinet; Dominican Minister of Foreign Affairs Miguel Vana, President of the Revolutionary Party (PRD).

In the afternoon of the same day, the delegation met with Dominican President Daniel Medina.

Dominican President Daniel Medina had an open and friendly exchange and conversation with comrade Phan Dinh Trac.

During the visit and working session, Dominican leaders highly appreciated Vietnam's position and achievements in bridging Southeast Asia and Asia, wishing to further promote bilateral relations, boost economic cooperation, promote mutual support in the international arena to jointly enhance the position of both sides in the spirit of peace and progress.

In their discussions with the delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Dominican leaders and leaders of the ruling party (Liberation Party - PLD), parties in the ruling coalition (Revolutionary Party - PRD), United Left Movement Party - MIU) all expressed their warm feelings and affirmed the good relationship between Dominican Republic and Vietnam and the Communist Party of Vietnam, expressing the admiration of Dominican politicians for Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh.

Dominican leaders all said that they “were inspired by Vietnam, by the Vietnamese revolution and President Ho Chi Minh, by the five-pointed yellow star on the Vietnamese flag”. With a respectful, close and friendly spirit, Dominican leaders expressed their special affection, admiration and love for the Vietnamese people’s love of independence, freedom, and fighting spirit against imperialism and invasion.

The Vietnamese side also acknowledged the good relationship between the two sides and the Dominican support for Vietnam over the years. A memorable milestone was the Dominican spiritual leader - Professor Juan Bosch, considered the founder and creator of the Vietnam - Dominican relationship, in the mid-1960s, being the first leader from South America to visit Vietnam to witness the Vietnamese people's resistance war against the US.

Vietnam requests that you support Vietnam to hold the position of non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and soon recognize Vietnam as a country with a full market economy.
