British intelligence agencies are concerned that IS militants could travel to tourist destinations to carry out terrorist acts there following the pattern of attacks they carried out in Sri Lanka, The Telegraph reported, citing sources in the security field.
Terrorists who fled Syria and Iraq after the defeat of IS can now focus on carrying out attacks in other tourist destinations. The biggest risks, according to sources, are resorts in Tanzania, India, Kenya and the Maldives.
There is now a threat that in the future terrorists will be present all over the world to carry out attacks because they have abandoned the idea of building an Islamic State.
It is worth recalling that on April 21, during Catholic Easter celebrations in Sri Lanka, eight explosions occurred in hotels and churches. The terrorist group IS* claimed responsibility for these attacks.
Three more explosions occurred in the east of the island on April 26, resulting in the death of 17 people. The IS group also claimed responsibility for these bombings.
