Enrollment quotas, preliminary selection time and selection methods are questions that many candidates are particularly interested in during the 2017 enrollment season for Police Universities.

Answering questions from candidates at the 2017 Admissions and Career Guidance Fair organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in Hanoi, Major Bui Thanh Dat, Deputy Head of the Planning and Training Cooperation Department, Department of Training (Ministry of Public Security), said that this year, the enrollment target for Public Security Universities is lower than in 2016.
Police schools will not use the C group (Literature, History, Geography) for admission but instead use the C03 group (Math, Literature, History). If any student wins the national excellent student award, they will be given priority in admission to Police universities.
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Public Security, the enrollment quota for women in the Police force will depend on each industry, so there are specific quotas. However, the number of women fluctuates from 10 to 15% of the total quota.
In 2017, the People's Public Security Universities will use the results of the national high school exam with 4 groups for admission including: D1 (Math, Literature, English), C03 (Math, Literature, History), A01 (Math, Physics, English) and A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry).
Candidates studying in the traditional A block (Math, Physics, Chemistry) this year can only apply to the Fire Prevention and Fighting University - Ministry of Public Security. Other universities do not use this combination for admission.
Regarding the candidate's question about where to submit the application if admitted to the Fire Prevention and Fighting University, Major Bui Thanh Dat said that according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Public Security, if the candidate is a high school student or a self-study candidate applying to the Fire Prevention and Fighting University, he/she will submit the application and register for the preliminary selection at the district or provincial police station.
On March 2, 2017, the Ministry of Public Security will organize a conference on public security recruitment and provide information on mass media so that candidates can know the specific time and contact the district police where they have registered their permanent residence to complete registration and preliminary selection procedures.
From March 7 to April 30 is also the time for district and county police agencies to conduct preliminary selection for candidates wishing to enter police schools.
Regarding the preliminary selection, in response to the question of whether nearsighted candidates can enter the People's Police Academy, Major Bui Thanh Dat said that according to the regulations of the Ministry of Public Security, in 2017, nearsighted candidates will continue to be allowed to have a health check for admission. However, candidates must commit to treatment if they are admitted to the People's Police Academy./.
