Schools in Nghe An simultaneously increase tuition fees

(Baonghean.vn) - From the second semester of 2017, public schools in Nghe An province have simultaneously increased tuition fees.

The tuition fee increase is based on Decision 89/2016/QD-UBND on Regulations on tuition fees in public educational and training institutions under the management of Nghe An province from the second semester of the 2016-2017 school year to the 2020-2021 school year. The new tuition fee will be applied to preschool children, secondary school, high school and supplementary high school students, students, graduate students, and researchers studying at public educational and training institutions under the management of Nghe An province. The new tuition fee is divided into 4 regions instead of 3 regions as in the old regulations.

In particular, the tuition fee for preschool education in the second semester of the 2016-2017 school year for mountainous districts and areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions is 40,000 VND/month; for communes in towns, communes in plain districts, and towns in lowland districts is 80,000 VND/month; for communes in Vinh city, wards in towns, and towns in plain districts is 180,000 VND/month; for wards in Vinh city, the tuition fee for preschool education is 210,000 VND/month.

For junior high school, the tuition fees are 25, 40, 70, and 100,000 VND/month depending on the area. For high school and continuing high school, the tuition fees are from 40, 70, and 100,000 VND/month depending on the area.

In the 2017-2018 school year, the highest tuition fee for preschool was 250,000 VND/month, and for middle and high school it was 120,000 VND/month. In 2020-2021, the highest tuition fee for preschool will be 280,000 VND/month, and for middle and high school it will be 130,000 VND/month.

The tuition fee for mass training programs at university level at public educational institutions that do not guarantee regular expenditure and investment expenditure in the 2020-2021 school year is 930,000 VND for social sciences, economics, agriculture - forestry - fisheries (intermediate level is 650,000 VND/month, college level is 740,000 VND/month); for natural sciences, engineering, technology, physical education, sports, arts, hotels, tourism, the tuition fee is 1,120,000 VND/month (intermediate level is 780,000 VND/month, college level is 900,000 VND/month).

Thus, with this new tuition fee, starting from the second semester of this school year, students in kindergartens and secondary schools will increase by 30,000 - 40,000 VND. From the next school year, each year will increase by 30,000 - 40,000 VND. High school students will increase by 20,000 - 30,000 VND.

For secondary schools, colleges and universities, the tuition fee for the second semester this year will increase by an average of 140,000 VND - 185,000 VND. From the 2017 - 2018 school year, each year will increase by 70 - 100,000 VND.
