Schools in Nghe An 'reveal' 'positive' information to 10th grade students before changing their wishes
Today (June 5), candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam will begin submitting applications to change their wishes. In Nghe An, this is both an opportunity and a great deal of pressure for many candidates to get into their dream school.
The school proactively discloses information
Ha Huy Tap High School is one of the public schools that consistently has the top admission scores in the province. This is also the dream school of many students in Vinh city and the annual admission rate is quite low.
This year's exam season, right after candidates completed the 10th grade entrance exam, the school's board of directors publicly posted information to "notice" candidates about changing their admission application wishes.Grade 10.

Specifically, according to the synthesis of Ha Huy Tap High School, in the 2025-2026 school year, the school has 862 students taking the exam. With the NV1 target of 810 students, the admission rate this year is nearly 94%, much higher than previous years when the rate usually fluctuated from only 53-68%. This number does not take into account the fact that every year the number of students admitted to the school but enrolled in specialized schools is nearly 100 students.
From this analysis, the school affirmed that this year's exam season "will be a great opportunity for students to register for the school". Therefore, parents and students need to consider carefully before changing their wishes so as not to lose the opportunity to study at the school they want, especially a school near home that is convenient for studying.

Regarding the chance of admission for the next school year, speaking with Nghe An Newspaper reporter, teacher Cao Thanh Bao - Principal of Ha Huy Tap High School also said: This year, the school has a number of students admitted directly but they are all in the integration category so it will not affect the school's enrollment target. Currently, the school's admission rate will be very high and if we subtract the number of students who pass the entrance exam to specialized schools, there may be a shortage of enrollment targets.
Yesterday, Kim Lien High School (Nam Dan) also announced the full number of students who actually took the entrance exam. Accordingly, this year the school only had 509 candidates taking the exam (1 student dropped out) and with the assigned quota, this year the school only had 14 applications left (not counting the number of students who passed the entrance exam to specialized high schools). With a very high chance of admission, the school invited candidates to change their wishes to the school. This will also be good news for students who want to pass NV1 to enter public schools.

Will the benchmark be low?.
In previous years, Le Viet Thuat High School was also one of the three public schools in Vinh City with a very large number of candidates registering for the exam, the competition rate was always in the top 3 of the province. However, this year, due to the large decrease in the number of students born in 2010 in the whole city, for the first time the school only had 730 candidates registering for the exam. Meanwhile, the school's assigned quota was 810 students (not including advanced classes).
With this reality, on the afternoon of June 5, discussing whether or not to change wishes, teacher Hoang Minh Luong - Principal of Le Viet Thuat High School, said: This year, in the whole province, the admission rate to public schools of many schools is over 90%, so the chance of admission is high. Particularly at Le Viet Thuat High School, the school is currently worried that there are not enough students according to the quota. Therefore, the predicted admission score will decrease significantly.

At Huynh Thuc Khang High School (Vinh City) - the school with the largest number of candidates registered for the exam in the province with 1,560 students - the chance of passing this year is also quite high.
Speaking to Nghe An Newspaper before the 10th grade entrance exam, teacher Phan Xuan Phan - Principal of the school said: "The number of candidates taking the exam this year is the same as last year. However, in the previous exam, the school had 67 students admitted directly, while this year there are only 20 students in this category. Therefore, the direct admission quota will increase, with 790 places, which means that the candidates' chances of being admitted are also higher."
With its own characteristics, Huynh Thuc Khang High School not only organizes entrance exams for the school itself but also undertakes the recruitment work for specialized schools in the province.
Therefore, as is customary every year, out of more than 1,500 candidates registering for the school entrance exam, about 500 will be admitted and enrolled in the province's two specialized schools.
For the remaining candidates, the competition rate is not too high and the annual admission score ranges from 7 to 7.5 points/subject. This is also an important basis for candidates and parents to consider when adjusting their wishes after the exam.
Teacher Phan Xuan Phan
The principal of the school that has had the highest admission score in the province for many years also said that normally in previous exam seasons, only candidates who registered for Huynh Thuc Khang High School transferred their applications to other schools, while the number of candidates from other exam sites transferring back was not much.
Therefore, parents should base on their children's actual test results to decide to adjust their wishes accordingly. If the candidate achieves a safe score, there is no need to worry too much and should avoid changing wishes in a massive, thoughtless manner.
In order to change their wishes to achieve the expected goal, candidates and parents need to pay attention to 3 factors: the size of the enrollment quota of the high school they intend to register for; correctly evaluate the quality of the exam subjects; and receive advice from teachers who teach grade 9 of junior high school.
Mr. Dao Cong Loi - Deputy Director of Department of Education and Training

Regarding the change of wishes, to avoid information "noise", this year, the Department of Education and Training requires parents and students to register to change their wishes on paper (instead of changing directly on the system like previous years). The list will be compiled and sent to the department on (June 7), 1 day after the end of the time to change wishes, so it will avoid the situation of changing wishes en masse.
With this change, today, through research, the number of candidates who have come to change their wishes is not much. Instead, schools are advising parents and students to think and consider carefully before submitting their applications before 5:00 p.m. tomorrow (June 6).
