These methods should only be used when the car owner unfortunately forgets their keys and cannot get help from a professional mechanic.

1. Unlock the car door with the manual lock.

First, you need to find a long, thin stick, the thinner the better, but it needs to be stiff enough. Estimate the size of the object so it's small enough to fit through the gap in the door, and long enough to reach the lock. It could be a coat hanger or a car antenna if nothing else is more suitable. Bend the end of the stick somehow.

Next, you need to find something to fill the gap in the door. It could be a piece of wood or something similar.Slide this tool into the door gap.The operation should be performed in the space between the car body and the top of the door on the opposite side of the hinge (this angle is where it's easiest to pull the door open).Use your fingers to create more space.

To avoid damaging the car paint, you can line the container with a soft cloth or paper.

When you find a gap, insert the long stick towards the door latch; it may take a few tries depending on your dexterity.

2. Open the car door from the inside if it has an automatic lock.

This depends on whether the automatic door lock is located on the dashboard or on the car door. If the lock is on the door below the window, the procedure is similar to that of a manual lock.

Identify the door latch by looking through the car window and estimating the distance.

Similar to manipulating a lock manually, an antenna or coat hanger are good tools for this purpose.
