More than 50 people related to suspected Covid-19 case quarantined
The Da Nang City Department of Health has quarantined more than 50 close contacts after discovering a man who first tested positive for nCoV.
Dr. Nguyen Tien Hong, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Health, said that on July 22, the male patient went to Da Nang Hospital C for examination due to cough and fatigue. After diagnosing pneumonia, the doctor took a sample to test for nCoV, the initial result was positive.
The Da Nang health sector has sent samples to the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang for confirmation testing and has not yet announced the results. On the night of July 23, the city's Center for Disease Control took more than 100 samples from people in contact with suspected cases for testing, the results were negative for nCoV.
"We have narrowly isolated Hospital C and quarantined more than 50 close contacts," said Dr. Hong. The Department of Health is currently focusing on investigating relatives to determine the source of infection and people in contact with the suspected case. If the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute continues to test positive, the isolation and quarantine will be expanded.
