How Gen Z Responds to a Healthy Lifestyle During Social Distancing
(Baonghean.vn) - Young people who love to "travel", want to connect and experience, now "each person stays at home", not allowing themselves to be bored, many young people of generation Z (those born after 2000) have truly become "ambassadors" for a healthy lifestyle. Not only that, they also spread this in the community through a campaign that has been attracting attention in recent days called "Healthy You, Healthy Vietnam".
"Reluctantly" staying at home, what is generation Z doing?
Young people - often referred to as "time billionaires", "tireless legs"... because perhaps the things they have the most are health and time. But now, when they stay at home more, the pace of life slows down, and connections are limited, what have they done to use their time effectively and encourage themselves to live healthier and more positively?
For Thach Truc (HCMC), the girl has just spent 21 days at home because she is in a locked-down area, now following another 2 weeks of city-wide social distancing. After the first few days, which she said she only ate, slept and practiced movies, Truc was determined to change so that "when she returns, she will be several times more powerful". In order to avoid laziness and "slowness", Truc sees this as a valuable time to study, read books, and participate in online courses to improve her knowledge and broaden her understanding.

Showing off her cooking skills and participating in online knowledge sharing sessions are ways for Thach Truc to maintain her energy and spread positive spirit to her friends. |
Not only that, Thach Truc also participates in sharing the knowledge she has learned through webinars. To spread positive energy to more people, she chose to participate in a campaign called "Healthy You, Healthy Vietnam" because she felt that in addition to being motivated to practice better health habits, she could also contribute something good to the community.
These days, the “stay at home group” is also divided into two schools, eating too much or being lazy so not eating properly. Realizing that either way is not good, and needing a more reasonable diet, Thanh Thao decided to actively post onFacebookof her about healthy “menus”. In a post, Thao shared that she has the nickname “Fruit Mrs. Thao” because she loves to eat fruit, and she is also a fan of yogurt dishes.“Before, my motivation was to eat to have beautiful skin, but now I find this habit is very beneficial, it helps me feel healthy and not feel heavy when staying at home for many days because of the epidemic like now” –Thao shares.

Fruits and Probi are two of Thanh Thao's "close friends" during the social distancing season. |
It is thought that healthy and reasonable eating is often ignored by Gen Z because there are too many "passionate" dishes out there, but no, Thao's posts have been "liked and shared" positively by many friends. Perhaps after living with this pandemic, not only Gen Z but all of us also appreciate our health more because only when we are healthy can we take care of and help others.
Ways to spread a healthy lifestyle like Gen Z
Not only is the young people self-conscious about health care, but their healthy “combo” also includes an optimistic and positive spirit with community programs. Distant but not distant, Gen Z always finds a way to connect and spread meaningful things.
Right from the beginning of the social distancing season, Khanh Vy (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City) created the column "Five Passion Dishes" on her Facebook page and "released" it every week.
She said:“I want to set some discipline for myself by promising everyone that every week I will introduce 5 “dishes” that I personally experience, so that I will have more motivation to do it. Above all, I also want these useful things to spread to many of my relatives and friends.”

One of Vy's posts that received enthusiastic support was how she joined in supporting the campaign "Healthy You, Healthy Vietnam" to spread a healthy, positive lifestyle and thereby contribute to Covid-19 vaccines for children.
“I really appreciate the message that when everyone is healthy, Vietnam is healthy. As a member of the Youth Union, with youth and enthusiasm, I think what we can do is spread this strength to more people."– that is the sharing of Thanh Nhan, a young girl who is volunteering for many community support programs during the epidemic season in Binh Duong.
The message "healthy people, healthy Vietnam" that young people are mentioning is also the meaning of the campaign "Healthy You, Healthy Vietnam" ofVinamilkis spreading.
