The price for 'friends progressing together' is... drug trafficking!
(Baonghean.vn) - Despite being sentenced to prison, the couple Dung and Luc still colluded to traffic drugs. In the end, the two "progressing together" friends had to share 40 years in prison.
The People's Court of Nghe An province has just opened a first-instance criminal trial of two defendants, Nguyen Tien Dung (born in 1989), residing in Duc Huong commune, Vu Quang district (Ha Tinh) and Hoang Van Luc (born in 1993), residing in Giai Xuan commune, Tan Ky district (Nghe An) for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking".
Dung and Luc are friends, long-time acquaintances when they both worked for hire in the South. At the end of July 2021, Dung contacted Luc to invite them to do business and said that they had drugs, and if Luc could introduce anyone to buy drugs, he would give them money.

Luc then introduced and connected Dung to sell drugs to a man named Thao in Tan Ky district. Through the exchange, Thao ordered 500 grams of drugs from Dung for 100 million VND.
To have "goods" to sell to customers, on August 7, 2021, Dung went to Bong market area, Vu Quang district to buy 300 grams from a man of unknown origin for 57 million VND.
Early the next morning, Dung and his wife and children traveled from Ha Tinh to Tan Ky district, Nghe An. After having dinner at his wife's parents' house, Dung asked Luc to take him to Thao's house to deliver the drugs.
However, when they arrived, Thao was not at home. Therefore, the two went to the dirt road area in Tan Long commune and were signaled by Tan Ky district police to stop for inspection. Seeing the police, Dung immediately threw the drugs into the bushes along the road but was discovered by the police. The evidence in the case was more than 300 grams.
At the trial, while Dung admitted to the crime, Luc denied it. Luc claimed he did not know about the drug dealing between Dung and his customers. However, Luc later admitted to the crime.
The panel of judges determined that the criminal acts of the two defendants were dangerous to society. Defendant Luc was sentenced to 12 months in prison with a suspended sentence for "Theft of property". The defendant's actions were to assist Dung in drug trafficking.
Considering the case comprehensively, the court sentenced the two defendants Nguyen Tien Dung and Hoang Van Luc each to 20 years in prison.
