200 signs warning of drowning danger

(Baonghean.vn) - To prevent and limit tragic drowning incidents, Do Luong district has launched a campaign for grassroots Youth Union organizations to put up warning signs to prevent drowning.

Up to now, the whole Do Luong district has made and installed 200 warning signs of drowning in communes and towns.

To effectively implement drowning prevention, the District Youth Union has allocated funds to renew 66 warning signs of dangerous deep water to support 33 Youth Union units. At the same time, money was assigned to each unit to install at least 3 signs. Along with placing warning signs in places where drowning is likely to occur, dangerous deep water areas, the District Youth Union Standing Committee and Youth Union units have directed Youth Union units to open swimming classes for children and manage children swimming in these areas. Actively propagate and mobilize people, especially children, not to swim in rivers, ponds and lakes, through Youth Union branch meetings and radio systems of communes and towns.

Drowning warning signs are posted at lakes, dams, and ferry piers.

Currently, Do Luong District Youth Union is continuing to promote propaganda and drowning prevention for children. Cooperating with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and local authorities to organize swimming lessons for children, and at the same time coordinate to manage children during the summer.
