Cam Son has a bumper pumpkin harvest.
(Baonghean.vn) - Farmers in Cam Son commune (Anh Son district, Nghe An province) have boldly planted 33 hectares of winter pumpkins, and the harvest is now in full swing. Thanks to their experience in investing in and caring for the crop, the pumpkins have yielded high productivity.
According to the chairman of the People's Committee of Cam Son commune, the average pumpkin yield reached 26 tons/ha, with an area of 33 hectares, resulting in a total production of nearly 858 tons of fruit. At the beginning of the harvest season, the selling price at the field was 11,000 VND/kg, but it has now dropped to only 7,300 VND/kg.
Thanks to good care and investment, pumpkins in Cam Son have achieved high yields.
Private traders came to buy pumpkins in large quantities.
This year, in the key pumpkin-growing area of Hoi Lam (20 hectares), the families of Mr. Chuong (growing 0.5 hectares) and Mr. Nhi (growing 0.5 hectares) achieved high yields. With a bountiful harvest, traders from all over the province came to Cam Son to buy pumpkins, much to the delight of the farmers.
