Sympathy for the boy with a terminal illness who has no money for treatment
(Baonghean.vn) - That is the pitiful story of Tran Dinh Quy (born March 5, 2003), in Hung Loi commune, Hung Nguyen. He has a serious illness and has undergone 3 surgeries but his condition has not improved. However, his family is poor and cannot afford to continue treating him.
Quy is the only son, the encouragement and spiritual support of his mother, Ms. Tran Thi Xanh. However, misfortune befell her family when her son suffered from polycystic odontogenic disease; he needed regular treatment.

Having struggled to raise a child alone, her only son now has a serious illness; the burden falls on the poor mother's shoulders. Talking about her family's situation, Ms. Xanh choked up: When he was born, Quy was chubby and very agile. But when he was one month old, he was diagnosed with meningomyelocele. The doctor warned that if he was not treated promptly, he would have dangerous complications; it could cause neurological defects.
Due to difficult circumstances, her family's income only depends on a few fields. However, unable to bear to see her child suffer from illness, Ms. Xanh had to borrow money to treat her child. That time, Quy's surgery was successful and his health was stable.
Wishing her son to be equal to his friends, Ms. Xanh sent him to school, but because he had to undergo medical treatment, he could not attend school regularly. Although he was weak and thin, Quy was always obedient, polite, hard-working, and knew how to help his mother. The joy of going to school for her little son seemed to give his poor mother more motivation and hope.
However, the happiness was short-lived. When Quy was 13 years old, he was diagnosed with a root cyst. Ms. Xanh borrowed money to take her son to Hanoi for treatment. That year, he underwent surgery to remove the tumor. Since then, he could only eat thin porridge or ground rice to ensure that his healthy teeth were not damaged.
However, the disease did not completely go away and spread to other teeth. Since December 2016, I continued to be hospitalized many times and had two surgeries. I was discharged from the hospital at the end of last year, the doctor scheduled a follow-up appointment for my family and surgery for the next teeth in March 2018.

The burden on the poor mother's shoulders is that in nearly 3 years of treating her child, the amount of money Ms. Xanh had to borrow has reached nearly 90 million VND. In addition to farming, Ms. Xanh works for hire everywhere in her free time, but her income is unstable, just enough for living expenses; she has not been able to pay back any of the debt.
Having no money, she had to postpone her child's surgery; it was painful to see her child struggling with illness day by day, many sleepless nights due to the excruciating pain.
The mother’s worries were compounded when the doctor said that if Quy did not undergo surgery in time, the disease would have dangerous complications. The poor situation of Ms. Xanh’s family is in dire need of help from philanthropists; so that Quy can have the opportunity to continue his treatment.
