(Baonghean.vn) - Since the mid-20th century, Vinh oranges have been famous throughout the North and beyond, they have traveled tens of thousands of miles to reach distant Eastern European friends.

At that time, the main source of oranges was from State-owned farms in the districts of Nghia Dan, Quy Hop, Con Cuong, Bai Phu (Anh Son), Tan Ky...

Not to mention the famous ripe Xa Doai oranges, which can only be bought on trees or in gardens and are not widely sold in the market. Vinh oranges have also appeared in poetry and songs. Poet Pham Tien Duat once wrote the poem "Orange Season" (Xa Doai oranges are juicy/Golden drops like honey/Cut oranges outside the front door/Fragrance wafts into the house), which was included in Vietnamese textbooks.

The name Vinh orange was formed naturally and simply during the subsidy period, following a very simple logic: oranges were brought from farms, down to Vinh town, gathered and from Vinh station, transported by train to various places for distribution and consumption. There was no registration of intellectual property rights, no labeling, no marketing and promotion activities... like now.

This has created the richness and diversity of Vinh oranges, while improving the quality of the fruit, extending the harvest time of the product and increasing competitiveness, affirming the position of Vinh oranges in the market. Coming to Vinh oranges, consumers can easily enjoy the varieties of Van Du oranges, Xa Doai, Xa Doai long vang, V1 oranges (Lai Valenxia 1.0), V2 oranges (Valenxia 2.0), etc. that have been "Vinhized".

On the morning of December 28, at the Provincial Cultural Information Center, the Provincial People's Committee opened the "Vinh Nghe An Orange Fair 2017". There were 46 booths of organizations and individuals producing and trading oranges in the province participating in the "Vinh - Nghe An Orange Fair 2017". This is the first time Nghe An province has organized the Vinh Orange Fair.

This Vinh Orange Fair, together with the solutions that have been implemented before such as announcing and labeling geographical indications, origin of Vinh Orange, establishing Vinh Orange Association, production and business cooperation groups... will certainly promote the Vinh Orange brand in the market. These solutions, on the one hand, will have a positive impact on the production, business and development of Vinh Orange, on the other hand, protect the interests of consumers in the best way.
