Cambodia elects Senate for 4th term
This morning (February 25), Cambodia held elections for the 4th Senate term (2018 - 2024).
Participating in this election are four political parties including the ruling Cambodian People's Party, the Royalist Party, the Cambodian Youth Party and the Khmer National Unity Party.

The Cambodian Senate this term will have 62 seats, an increase of 1 seat compared to the previous term. Of these, 2 seats are appointed by the King, 2 seats are introduced by the National Assembly, and the rest are elected by the Grand Electorate.
The electors include National Assembly deputies and incumbent commune and ward councilors.
According to experts, in this Senate election, the Cambodian People's Party has a very high prospect of winning because it has more Electors than other parties.
Mr. Tep Nitha, Secretary General of the National Election Committee of Cambodia, said: Cambodia has been preparing for the election carefully, in accordance with Cambodian and international laws. The election was held fairly and transparently. The election process was highly appreciated by political parties and the international community./.
