Cambodia detects 15 more cases of new Omicron variant
On December 26, Cambodia announced the discovery of 15 more cases of infection with the Omicron variant, bringing the total number of cases infected with the Omicron variant nationwide to 31.

Speaking at a ceremony to receive 2.35 million doses of Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine in Phnom Penh, donated by Australia, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said that Cambodia currently has almost no community transmission, but unfortunately the Omicron variant has begun to infect Cambodia. On December 26, Cambodia recorded 15 cases of the new Omicron variant, bringing the total number of Omicron variant infections in the country to 31.
According to Prime Minister Hun Sen, of the 31 cases infected with the Omicron variant, 3 have recovered.
Prime Minister Hun Sen called on all people to raise their vigilance and prevent the disease according to the instructions of the authorities to prevent the spread to the community.
In the announcement of the Cambodian Ministry of Health today (December 26), in the past 24 hours, the country recorded 4 cases of Covid-19, including 3 imported cases and 1 case in the community and no deaths due to this disease.
To date, Cambodia has had 120,449 Covid-19 cases and 3,008 deaths from the disease./.
