Cadres who do not care about "self-cultivation" cannot become good cadres.
Cadres and party members, regardless of their position or responsibility, must never forget the lesson of self-awareness and self-training.
Public opinion in recent days has witnessed the court sentencing defendant Dinh La Thang to 13 years in prison for intentionally violating state regulations on economic management, causing serious consequences. Defendant Trinh Xuan Thanh was sentenced to 14 years in prison for intentionally violating regulations, and life in prison for embezzlement. The total sentence is life in prison.
Many opinions say that the strict trial has regained the trust of cadres, party members and people in the fight against degradation, negativity, corruption and waste. Through this, the Party continues to build and rectify the Party in the spirit of the 4th Central Resolution of the 11th and 12th terms, in conjunction with the implementation of Directive 05 on promoting "Studying and following the moral example and lifestyle of Ho Chi Minh".
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Bao |
According to Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Quoc Bao, former Head of the Ho Chi Minh Thought Department, Academy of Journalism and Propaganda, from the verdict, including high-ranking Party officials, it is necessary to return to Uncle Ho's teachings. Right from the work "The Revolutionary Path", President Ho Chi Minh pointed out 23 points regulating the "Qualities of a revolutionary". Later, in the work "Reforming the way of working", Uncle Ho mentioned 12 points on "Qualities of a truly revolutionary Party". Uncle Ho taught cadres and Party members to always train themselves, cultivate their own morality and lifestyle.
Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Quoc Bao affirmed: The lesson for all party members is that no matter what position or responsibility, they must never let go of self-awareness and self-training.
“The moral training and cultivation of each party cadre and member is extremely important. Because the organization is not always by our side, and we cannot always recognize our own shortcomings. Once we are aware and cultivate ourselves, we not only have the courage but also always be aware of whether we have done the right thing? Are we for the people? Do our actions harm the common interests of the collective? Do they harm the interests of the people? Do they harm the honor of the Party and ourselves? In my opinion, self-cultivation and cultivation are extremely important.”
The expensive lesson of "losing" cadres related to recent major cases is mainly due to the fact that those cadres and party members could not control themselves, became criminals, lost honor, and damaged the Party's prestige. Besides, if we only control power and care about cadre work but cadres do not cultivate and train themselves but only aspire for power to achieve their goals, then there will certainly not be cadres as desired by the Party.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Dinh, former Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, said that cultivating and training in ethics and lifestyle is expressed in the practice of leadership positions.
“The results of your behavior in terms of ethics and lifestyle are not based on how you cultivate yourself. The process of expressing behavior in the process of performing the function of a leader or key cadre is possible. It is possible to monitor how you express it, but not the process. The manifestation of behavior and the results of cultivation in the process of leading and performing political tasks,” said Mr. Nguyen Tien Dinh.
The Politburo is preparing to submit to the Secretariat the Project "Developing Regulations on supervision by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations and the people on the moral training of leaders, key officials and cadres and party members". For this supervision to be effective, according to Mr. Tran Ngoc Duong, former Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office, there should be specific regulations and rules on supervision of moral training of cadres and party members. If the moral training of cadres and party members is demonstrated by actions, this is stipulated in 19 prohibitions of the Party. These are the criteria for supervision and evaluation of what party members have done, and what has not been done, then it is reflected and recommended.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Duong |
Mr. Tran Ngoc Duong also suggested: “Clarify the method of supervision, supervision of moral cultivation and training by what means? Through conferences organized by the Fatherland Front or through reflections from the collective of people doing front work. If the method of organizing this supervision is not clearly defined, it will be difficult to implement, and the implementation will be just a formality. Therefore, it is necessary to clearly define the objects that need to be supervised as well as the form and method of supervision."
The ancients said, "Cultivate yourself, regulate your family, govern the country, and bring peace to the world." If you do not "cultivate yourself", how can you "regulate your family, govern the country, and bring peace to the world?" If you "cultivate yourself" poorly, even if the Party and the collective favor and select you, you will not become a good or talented cadre. When you get a position, you always need to cultivate and improve your qualifications; avoid considering the position as a business opportunity that brings personal benefits. Regularly cultivating and practicing ethics will help each cadre to heighten his or her responsibility to the Party, the country, and the people./.
