(Baonghean.vn) - In the border commune of Tri Le (Que Phong), there were 4 enterprises licensed to exploit iron ore, including Central General Construction and Installation Company Limited; Lam Le Phong Joint Stock Company; 171 Rural Development and Construction Investment Joint Stock Company and Ngoc Sang Company Limited. Currently, all 4 of these enterprises have had their licenses expired and have ceased operations since 2014 - 2016. However, they have not carried out environmental improvement and restoration work according to the law. And the "legacies" they left behind are causing consequences for Tri Le commune and Que Phong district.

There have been many consequences for Tri Le and Que Phong districts from the "legacy" left by iron mining enterprises. Floods and rains have brought sand and soil from the mountains to villages and houses; waste reservoirs are at risk of collapsing, dragging water and sludge into rivers and lakes, causing environmental pollution. In addition, there have been cases of people entering the iron screening area of Ngoc Sang Company Limited to collect tin ore. To prevent possible consequences, Que Phong district and Tri Le commune have had to organize working groups to encourage people not to illegally mine minerals.
