(Baonghean.vn) - Exactly 10 years after the People's Committee of Nghe An province signed the decision to approve the detailed construction plan, but up to now, the Border Area Wholesale Market Project in Thanh Thuy Commune, Thanh Chuong District of Tan Long Joint Stock Company (headquartered in Vinh City) is still just rows of abandoned houses, a wood storage factory and an empty land overgrown with weeds for grazing cattle.

The investment project to build a wholesale market in the border area and a general business area is planned on the land east of Ho Chi Minh road, in Thuy Phong village, Thanh Thuy commune, Thanh Chuong with an area of 117,003.15m2.2 (later adjusted to 135,837.22m)2). On December 5, 2012, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Decision No. 4896/QD.UBND-CN approving the detailed planning for the construction of the border wholesale market project and the general business area in Thanh Thuy commune. This project is implemented by Tan Long Joint Stock Company (headquartered in Vinh city). Although the land has been handed over and the site has been cleared, the investor has only built a few rows of houses. Currently, many rows of houses have signs of deterioration and are abandoned. In addition to a number of rows of houses, in the middle of the land, the investor also built a corrugated iron factory. Photo: Tien Dong |

In addition to miscellaneous wood, inside the factory there are also many wooden panels that have been cut into planks. It is known that at the beginning of the project, due to construction before completing procedures and at the same time carrying out some items not included in the planning, this investor was also "whistled" by the People's Committee of Thanh Chuong district and fined for administrative violations in the field of construction. According to Mr. Ha Hong Thai - Chairman of Thanh Thuy Commune People's Committee, this project has been implemented for a long time, but up to now, the investor has only cleared about 70% of the land area, mainly 5% of land managed by the commune, and there are still many agricultural land areas of households in Thuy Phong hamlet that have not been cleared. Although many areas have been handed over to businesses, due to lack of implementation, they have been overgrown with weeds and become grazing grounds for local people's cattle. According to Mr. Thai, although the local government has repeatedly urged the investor to implement the project as soon as possible according to regulations, the investor still has not proceeded. The most problematic issue is that many areas of land that have not been cleared are located next to areas that have been cleared, making production difficult for local people. Photo: Tien Dong
