On August 21, Iran unveiled its first domestically produced fighter jet, the Kowsar, at a defense exhibition. President Hassan Rouhani and Defense Minister Amir Hatami attended the unveiling ceremony. President Hassan Rouhani even sat in the cockpit to check the aircraft's combat readiness.
Speaking to military officials in Tehran, President Rouhani stressed that Iran's military might was for defensive purposes, but warned that it would retaliate against any hostile moves.
