(Baonghean.vn) - The Vietnam national football team will play the first leg of the semi-final against the host Philippines at Panaad Stadium on the evening of December 2. Unfortunately, the grass on this football field is not as expected.

Panaad Stadium is quite old due to lack of use. This football stadium was built in 1997 and put into use in 1998. The stadium had an initial capacity of nearly 10,000 seats. However, due to deterioration, it can now only accommodate about 8,000 people.

Although it was only built for more than 20 years, Panaad Stadium has had to be upgraded and repaired three times. In 2010, Panaad Stadium was rejected by the AFF to host the semi-final match between the Philippines and Indonesia. The functional rooms have also deteriorated and cannot meet the standards to host an international match.

The quality of the Panaad Stadium, where the first leg of the semi-final between the Philippines and Vietnam will take place, is quite poor, with many potholes and the stands have seriously deteriorated. This will certainly affect the short, technical play of the Vietnam team in the upcoming first leg of the semi-final.

According to Vietnamese reporters, the grass of this football field is not even as good as Thanh Hoa Stadium, Vinh Stadium or some other stadiums in V.League./.
