(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 10th, the Standing Committee of the Quynh Luu District Party Committee held a working session with Quynh Nghia commune regarding the results of task implementation in the first six months of 2014 and the situation of coastal tourism development.

In the first six months of the year, the total value of agricultural production in Quynh Nghia commune reached over 4.1 billion VND; seafood exploitation reached over 5,000 tons with a value of nearly 28 billion VND. Phu Nghia shipbuilding village built 16 new vessels, bringing the total number of vessels in the commune to 103, mainly those with a capacity of over 90 horsepower. Total budget revenue in the commune in the first six months of the year was over 3.2 billion VND, reaching 44.4% of the annual plan. Livestock farming increased rapidly, especially the spotted deer herd with 1,350 animals. Regarding new rural development, Quynh Nghia has so far met 15 out of 19 criteria, striving to achieve the goal by 2015. Regarding tourism development, Quynh Nghia commune has significant tourism potential in the district with 3.4 km of coastline. Currently, the entire commune has 14 households engaged in developing beach tourism services.

To enable Quynh Nghia to complete its 2014 plan and overcome weaknesses in tourism management, the leaders of Quynh Luu district requested that the Party Committee, government, departments, and local organizations pay attention to implementing several issues such as: accelerating the progress of new rural development; promoting the effectiveness of traditional craft villages specializing in shipbuilding and civil carpentry; promptly establishing concentrated seafood processing zones to enhance the value of seafood; paying attention to environmental sanitation in the area, especially in coastal tourism areas, preventing the direct discharge of wastewater into the sea; and reviewing ineffective land lease projects, proposing to higher authorities to reclaim the land and lease it to other investors to maximize efficiency…/.
