There needs to be a budget for a job creation program for war veterans.

At the meeting, Major General Nguyen Dinh Minh evaluated the results of the implementation of the coordination program between the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Veterans Association for the period 2015 - 2017.

Accordingly, in recent times, the association at all levels has regularly followed the situation, closely coordinated with the People's Committees at the same level and functional forces, police and military forces to advise and organize forces, and effectively participate in handling issues of political security and social order and safety in the area.

Along with that, the Association has coordinated with functional agencies to create conditions for organizing training on knowledge of production labor, economic activities, job introduction, labor export... From here, it has contributed to solving local employment for nearly 85,000 war veterans of working age, over 25,000 people were exported to work...

The head of the provincial Veterans Association said that up to now, the lives of veterans in the province have generally been gradually improved, the rate of poor households in the whole association by December 2017 was only 3.39%, the rate of well-off and rich households accounted for 69.8%.

In the implementation of policies for war veterans, in 3 years, there have been 11,960 cases enjoying the regime according to Decision 62/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, 84 cases enjoying the war invalid regime, 31 cases enjoying the regime for Agent Orange victims...

However, the meeting also assessed some shortcomings such as limited coordination between the Association of War Veterans and functional agencies in monitoring and social criticism in some localities; coordination in directing and inspecting the implementation of coordination contents has not become a regular routine...

Based on the assessment of the practical coordination program in the past time, the Chairman of the Association of War Veterans recommends that the People's Committees at all levels should annually have a budget plan for the job creation program, creating conditions for the development of production and business models of war veterans; and have a priority policy for job creation for war veterans and their children in difficult areas.

At the same time, the Association of War Veterans proposed that the Provincial People's Committee pay attention to part of the budget for the Association's movement activities, especially at the grassroots level; and support the cost of repairing the office of the Provincial Association of War Veterans.

Concluding the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Dai highly agreed with the report assessing the results of the coordination program between the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Association of War Veterans and acknowledged the opinions of the delegates attending the meeting.

To better implement the coordination program for the period 2018 - 2020, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee identified the following key contents: strengthening coordination in providing information and effectively advising on complicated cases of political security, social order and safety; coordinating the implementation of programs, projects of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee; effectively implementing the grassroots democracy regulations and Decision 217 of the Politburo on social supervision and criticism...

Regarding the recommendations and proposals of the Association of War Veterans, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Association to submit a budget estimate to the Department of Finance for reasonable budget allocation.
