From satellite images, it can be seen that at least 2 out of 3 main US targets in the airstrike on Syria on the morning of April 14 were severely damaged.

Early on the morning of April 14, the US-led coalition launched more than 100 missiles at three locations suspected of being involved in the storage and use of chemical weapons in Syria.

From the Pentagon, Lieutenant General Kenneth F. McKenzie Jr. later confirmed the three main targets of the attack including a research facility, a weapons depot and a command center.

SheetNPRToday, April 15, DigitalGlobe released a series of satellite images showing that at least two of the three locations mentioned above - the Barzeh Research and Development Center and the Him Shinshar chemical weapons storage facility - were severely damaged.

The Barzeh Center, according to the Pentagon, is located in an area near the capital Damascus.

To destroy this target, the US and its allies used a total of 76 missiles, including 57 US Tomahawk missiles.

"The airstrike will set back Syria's chemical weapons program for years to come," General McKenzie said.

“We successfully destroyed three buildings in the capital Damascus, one of the most heavily guarded airspaces in the world,” he added.

This is the second time the US has launched missiles to attack Syria since US President Donald Trump took office in January last year.

For its part, Syria claims it gave up its chemical weapons in 2013.
