Infrastructure at Vinh Airport needs improvement.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the investment promotion conference in Nghe An, Mr. Luu Duc Khanh - CEO of VietJetAir - gave his opinion on improving the infrastructure of Vinh Airport.

Currently, VietJetAir operates the Ho Chi Minh City – Vinh route with 18 flights per week and the Da Lat – Vinh route with 3 flights per week. During the Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse), the airline added 10 more Da Lat – Vinh flights and 15 Ho Chi Minh City – Vinh flights. It is evident that Nghe An is a province with great potential, possessing a developed education and healthcare system, a long and rich cultural history, and attracting tourists… Many people work far from home in various places both domestically and internationally. We consider this a potential destination for investment, increasing the frequency of current routes and considering opening new routes to Vinh. A notable achievement of VietJetAir in Nghe An is the continuous support and cooperation from the province and Vinh Airport throughout the preparation, launch, and operation phases.

However, in order to increase the frequency of existing routes and consider opening new routes to and from Vinh, we truly need comprehensive attention and investment, not just for VietJetAir, but first and foremost for the infrastructure of Vinh Airport.

For example, increasing aircraft parking spaces, expanding terminal areas, increasing the number of check-in counters and ground service equipment, extending service hours to 24/7 to accommodate more peak-hour and late-night flights, diversifying flight schedules to meet the diverse needs of passengers, and optimizing the aircraft fleet's operational schedule...

It is also necessary to strengthen public awareness campaigns for citizens and passengers regarding the requirements and specifics of air travel. Vinh and Hai Phong are locations with complex weather conditions, especially during the winter and spring months, which can affect aircraft takeoffs and landings. Due to flight safety regulations, flights are sometimes canceled or have to land at other airports. In such situations, airlines suffer significant losses, but many passengers still lack understanding, leading to uncooperative reactions that affect other passengers and even cause chain delays for subsequent flights that have already been scheduled.

To support businesses investing in opening new routes, VietJetAir also needs the province's support in issuing preferential policies to implement promotional programs for new routes and compensate for initial losses.
