Recently, during the inspection of fire prevention and control work in the districtDo Luong, Comrade Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Thuong Son commune government to urgently mobilize forces to clean up the dry vegetation after the fire, otherwise the risk of forest fire re-ignition in Thuong Son is very high.

Mr. Thanh Dang Long - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Son Commune said: On May 5, a forest fire broke out in the Tich Tich mountain area with an area of 5.3 hectares, damaging 2.1 hectares of forest. The cause of the forest fire is unknown, the commune is directing the commune police to coordinate with other sectors to investigate and verify.
The commune also held a meeting to discuss that after the spring rice harvest and summer-autumn rice planting are finished, the commune will mobilize forces to clean up the dry vegetation after the crop.forest fire, replant damaged acacia and pine trees.
At the same time, the commune assigned militia and police to guard the forest gates, strictly prohibiting people from setting fire into the forest, and treating the acacia growing ground cover during the hot season. The entire Thuong Son commune has 236 hectares of pine forest, bordering Yen Thanh district, the risk of forest fire is quite high because most of the ground cover has not been treated due to the commune's financial difficulties.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Do Luong district, the whole district currently has over 2,000 pine forests, concentrated in the communes of Bai Son, My Son, Thuong Son, Hoa Son... Forest fire prevention and control work in Do Luong district still has a high risk of forest fires. Most of the pine forest areas managed by the communes have not yet been cleared of vegetation, and firebreaks have not been built in the border forests. Up to this point, the whole district has only cleared and treated vegetation on over 200/2,000 hectares, and repaired 5 km of green firebreaks.

Entering the hot season, the People's Committee of Do Luong district directed specialized agencies, departments, organizations, and localities to regularly propagate and remind local people to raise their sense of responsibility in forest fire prevention and fighting.
Maintain a regular fire watch regime to ensure 24/24 hours on hot days. Maintain a permanent command regime at the offices of the Steering Committees at all levels and forest owners. Update and monitor information on the situation of forest fires in the area. Advise the Steering Committee to mobilize forces and command forest fire fighting promptly and effectively when forest fires occur.
