Currently, the management units of these works are focusing on operating the sluice gates to drain water promptly and prevent localized flooding in the southern part of the province. The delegation also inspected the Nam Dan 2 sluice gate system, the Khe Quanh reservoir in Nghi Yen commune, and the Nghi Cong Bac dam in Nghi Loc district. After conducting on-site inspections of the projects, Mr. Dinh Viet Hong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciated the flood and storm prevention and rescue work of the agricultural sector, the Nam Irrigation Company Limited, and the localities. He requested the agricultural sector and localities to review the flood and storm prevention plan, revise the "four on-the-spot" principle; and strengthen propaganda to raise people's awareness of complying with flood and storm prevention and rescue work. In the short term, focus on rationally operating drainage gates to prevent flooding in inland areas during this heavy rain; harvest the summer-autumn rice crop promptly with the motto "better to harvest while still green than wait until it's overripe"; and encourage people to comply well with flood and storm prevention measures in aquaculture and fishing vessels. For unfinished irrigation projects, units need to focus on flood and storm prevention solutions to ensure the safety of the structures. Local authorities are campaigning to encourage people to clear waterways and drain floodwaters quickly to prevent flooding of unharvested rice fields and other crops...
