The Drug Administration of Vietnam, Ministry of Health requires provincial and municipal health departments to focus on and strengthen the management of external use drugs such as sodium chloride (NaCl) 0.9%, hydrogen peroxide, and iodine solution used in medicine. The authorities focus on checking the origin of the products; at the same time, strictly punish violators and publicize them on mass media.
To ensure safety for users, the Department requires health departments to notify drug retail establishments that they are only allowed to sell 0.9% NaCl, hydrogen peroxide, and iodine solution with product circulation registration certificates according to regulations.
Previously, during the post-inspection process, a number of health departments discovered many businesses selling 0.9% NaCl solution, hydrogen peroxide, and iodine solution labeled as external medicine without a registration license as required.
