Forest fire warning in Nghe An reaches extremely dangerous level
In recent days, Nghe An has been experiencing intense heat, with temperatures in some places exceeding 40°C, and the risk of forest fires is very high.
On June 17, the Steering Committee of the Sustainable Forestry Development Program of Nghe An province for the period 2021-2025 issued Notice No. 610/TB-BCĐ on forest fire warning.

According to information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on June 16, Do Luong district recorded a temperature of 40.3 degrees; low relative humidity, commonly from 45-55%. Heat waves in Nghe An province are likely to last for the next few days.
Due to the impact of intense heat, especially intense in some places, combined with low humidity in the air, there is a very high risk of forest fires. The Steering Committee for the Sustainable Forestry Development Program of Nghe An Province, 2021-2025, warns of forest fire levels in forest areas in Nghe An Province from June 17, 2024 to June 23, 2024: From Level IV - Dangerous level to Level V - Extremely dangerous level.

To proactively respond, limit and minimize damage caused by forest fires, the Steering Committee requests the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns; Forest rangers, forest owners and relevant agencies and units to focus on strictly implementing the provisions of the Decrees and Telegrams of the Prime Minister on continuing to resolutely and effectively implement forest fire prevention and fighting measures nationwide; Telegrams and Directives of the Provincial People's Committee on continuing to resolutely and effectively implement forest fire prevention and fighting measures in Nghe An province.
At the same time, effectively implement forest fire warning work at fire watchtowers in the province, monitor the forest fire warning information system of the Forestry Department. Do a good job of warning and forecasting forest fires early to local authorities, forest owners and people to raise vigilance, proactively deploy appropriate measures to prevent and fight forest fires.

Agencies and units should strengthen propaganda and education to raise awareness and responsibility in forest fire prevention and fighting. At the same time, inspect, urge and guide people to control the use of fire in and near forests, especially slash-and-burn farming activities, temporarily stop using fire to treat vegetation; strictly handle acts of using fire that can cause forest fires during peak periods when the risk of forest fires is high.
Along with that, organize on-duty shifts, assign forces to be on duty 24/7 during hot weather; arrange checkpoints, patrols, and guards in key areas prone to forest fires, strictly control people entering and leaving forest areas at high risk of fire (Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan's Tomb, King Mai Hac De's Tomb, Quyet Mountain Forest Park, Cuong Temple Area...).

Timely detect fire points, mobilize forces to control and extinguish forest fires in the shortest time, not allowing large fires to occur; strictly implement the reporting regime, ensure complete accuracy, timeliness to serve the direction, operation and organization of timely and effective fire prevention and fighting.
Proactively and urgently review plans and solutions for forest fire prevention and fighting in the district with the motto "4 on-site"; arrange forces, means, materials, and funds for forest fire prevention and fighting.

When a forest fire occurs, the Chairman or Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the district, city or town must be present at the scene to directly direct, mobilize forces, means, logistics and command fire fighting according to the approved plan. For forests near residential areas and warehouses, when a fire occurs, it is necessary to proactively have a plan to evacuate people from dangerous areas, and take measures to ensure the safety of people's lives and property and the forces participating in forest fire fighting.
After extinguishing the fire, local authorities are requested to direct relevant agencies to urgently investigate, determine the cause and perpetrator of the fire, and strictly handle violators according to regulations.
