Warning: Chinese 'Jart bomb' (stink bomb) toys can cause poisoning.

The Kien Giang Department of Education and Training has just sent a document to the entire education sector in the province warning about the situation of students using "Jart bomb" toys manufactured in China, which have caused poisoning incidents in the area.

On October 21st, Mr. Hoang Huu Thinh, Chief of the Office of the Department of Education and Training of Kien Giang province, provided this information.

Earlier on October 14th, at Thuan Hoa 3 Primary School in An Minh district, 34 students had to be hospitalized for emergency treatment due to dizziness, headaches, and difficulty breathing after coming into contact with stink bomb toys.

After receiving emergency treatment, the children were discharged home, but on October 19th, some showed signs of relapse and had to be readmitted to the hospital.

On October 17th, the Kien Giang Provincial Department of Health sent a document to the Department of Education and Training ruling out the possibility of food poisoning and concluding that the cause was due to the children's contact with stink bomb toys (20 of them inhaling the fumes directly), which then triggered a reaction to the gas contained in the stink bombs, leading to the symptoms described above.

In this document, the Department of Health also requested that relevant authorities inspect, seize, and destroy stink bomb toys manufactured in China, especially in areas around schools.

According to the Kien Giang Department of Education and Training, the consequences of the incident have had a significant impact on the psychology of students and parents, and have negatively affected the educational environment.

Therefore, the Department of Education and Training requests all educational institutions in the province, especially preschools and primary schools, to urgently disseminate information to students and parents not to buy or use "Jart bomb" toys - made in China.

Schools need to have concise, easy-to-understand, and memorable information boards displayed in easily visible places such as the canteen, dining hall, and areas where students often gather during breaks.

At the same time, the school needs to meet with and advise individuals selling toys inside and outside the school to minimize the sale of toy products that are harmful to students.
