Over the past few days, the entire northern and central regions of Vietnam have been engulfed in intense heat. In many places, temperatures have consistently reached 38-39 degrees Celsius.

According to the Central Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting Center, a cold front will affect the weather in Northern Vietnam around dawn and morning of June 10th; from noon and afternoon, it will affect North Central Vietnam and some areas in Central Vietnam.

A cold front arrived amidst high temperatures, causing the weather to deteriorate in the late afternoon and evening of June 9th in Northern Vietnam, bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms. Provinces from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue may even experience hail and strong gusts of wind from midday and afternoon of June 10th.

The mid-summer monsoon also brings strong winds inland and coastal areas. From June 10th, the Gulf of Tonkin will experience strong northeasterly winds of force 6, gusting to force 7-8, accompanied by heavy thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, be wary of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind. From June 10th, the weather in Northern Vietnam and North Central Vietnam will become cooler.

The meteorological agency warns of heavy rains causing flash floods and landslides.
