Warning about fake pregnancy tests and fever-reducing patches.
Newspapers and TV channels have been reporting on the seizure of counterfeit pregnancy tests and fever-reducing patches, causing widespread panic among consumers. It is known that many counterfeit pregnancy tests and fever-reducing patches, mostly from China, are currently circulating in the market without undergoing quality control checks.
Fake pregnancy tests often give false positive or false negative results. While they don't affect health, they directly impact the user's mental well-being. Many victims of counterfeit products are extremely upset and are urging the government to impose strong penalties to prevent this.
According to VTV (June 16, 2015), Market Management Team No. 14 (Hanoi) seized 20,000 boxes of pregnancy test kits and 10,000 boxes of fever-reducing patches that lacked the necessary permits from the Ministry of Health but were falsely labeled as products from the United States. A health expert stated that, in principle, pregnancy test kits and fever-reducing patches must be quality-assessed and licensed for circulation by the Ministry of Health. Most of the counterfeit pregnancy test kits and fever-reducing patches originated in China, but after arriving in Vietnam, they were labeled as originating from Europe or "made in Vietnam." Counterfeit goods are confiscated. However, by the time authorities conduct inspections, a large quantity of counterfeit goods has already been sold, causing losses to buyers. Many tragicomic incidents have occurred as a result of using counterfeit pregnancy test kits. Ms. Mai Hoa, a victim of fake pregnancy tests: “I’ve been married for a long time, so when I saw two lines on the test, I was overjoyed. But when I went to the hospital to retest, it was still not pregnant. I felt incredibly disappointed. When I asked my friends, they all had experienced false positives several times because they bought fake pregnancy tests, so the results were inaccurate…”

Health experts advise that to avoid buying fake pregnancy tests or fever-reducing patches, women should only purchase branded products with clear registration numbers from the Ministry of Health printed on the packaging. Avoid buying overly cheap products, as these may be counterfeit. Currently, many pregnancy tests and fever-reducing patches on the market lack registration numbers on the packaging. When buying these products, women don't know if they are genuine or fake, or if their quality is controlled and guaranteed. Therefore, extreme caution is necessary when buying pregnancy tests and fever-reducing patches to avoid purchasing counterfeit goods, which can lead to wasted money and further disappointment.

For products manufactured in Vietnam, the packaging will have a specific registration number, the name and address of the manufacturer printed on it, so that consumers know it is a genuine product.
The CHIP-CHIPS pregnancy test kit (pen and stick) and SAKURA cooling patches are manufactured in Vietnam by Tanaphar Company using modern technology. They have been quality-assessed and licensed for circulation by the Ministry of Health, with the registration number “Visa No: 22/2013/BYT-TB-CT” clearly printed on the packaging. Therefore, women can rest assured of their safety.
