(Baonghean.vn) - According to the North Central Region Hydrometeorological Station, currently (January 22), the strong cold air has affected most of the provinces in the North Central region. The Gulf of Tonkin has strong northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 7.

Forecast: On the night of January 22 and 23, the cold air will continue to strongly affect the North Central region; Northeast wind inland will be strong at level 3, coastal areas at level 4-5, gusting at level 6-7.

On land: The North Central region will experience severe cold from tonight (January 22). During this cold spell, the lowest temperature will be between 9-12 degrees Celsius, and in some mountainous areas, it will be below 9 degrees Celsius.

At sea: in the Gulf of Tonkin, the Northeast wind increases to level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9; waves 2.0-4.5m high; rough seas. In the North East Sea (including the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago), the Northeast wind increases to level 7, sometimes level 8, gusting to level 9; waves 3.0-6.0m high; rough seas.

The severe cold spell in the North Central region may last for many days. From January 23, the southern part of the North Central region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. Thunderstorms may include tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Strong winds and large waves at sea are likely to affect boat operations and other activities.

Severe cold can affect livestock and poultry and greatly affect the growth and development of crops.

Thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind can affect agricultural production, break trees, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure.
