Warning about theft and murder at offices and banks

In recent times, throughout the country in general and Nghe An province in particular, there have been a number of cases in which criminals have carried weapons and dangerous weapons to steal property and rob property at the headquarters of agencies and organizations, especially banks, credit funds, schools, and headquarters of local Party committees and authorities.

When discovered, the subject immediately attacked, committed acts of murder, intentionally caused injury to escape and conceal the crime.

Typically, on October 8, 2019, a subject used a gun to break into a gold shop in Dong Trieu town (Quang Ninh) and robbed 200 million VND.

On October 14, at the Quynh Luu Social Insurance headquarters, a security guard was killed, with signs of robbery. As a result, Mr. Dang Van Thanh (45 years old), residing in Quynh Hong commune, a security guard of the Quynh Luu District Social Insurance, was killed at the agency headquarters.

Previously, in the early morning of July 10, 2019, Ms. TTP (37 years old, employee of Nghe An Petroleum Company) was working at the gas station in Quynh Giang commune (Quynh Luu district) and was also attacked by a young man with a knife, causing Ms. P. to die.

Through the cases, some issues that need attention have emerged, such as crimes often occur late at night, the crime scene is in a place with few people and vehicles passing by; meanwhile, most agencies and businesses usually only arrange for 1 security guard on duty at night or a female officer on duty.

Security camera systems at key locations such as warehouses, corridors of important areas, and fences surrounding the agency are not available or the image quality is not guaranteed.

In the face of the above situation, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued an official dispatch requesting the provincial police to notify the hotline number of the police agency to agencies, organizations and enterprises so that units can proactively contact and discuss when there are issues related to security and order. Coordinate with the People's Procuracy and the Courts at all levels to select a number of typical cases to focus on investigation, prosecution and trial. Strengthen protection work at key targets, prevent complicated incidents related to security and order from occurring.

Localities, departments and branches need to arrange enough security guards; replicate the community camera model, install full technical equipment to support security, especially at banks, credit funds, insurance agencies, large businesses, etc.
