Flood warning issued for Nghe An.

(Baonghean.vn) - This afternoon and tonight (September 21), water levels on rivers in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces are rising, and a flood is expected.

According to the latest information from the North Central Meteorological and Hydrological Station, from the evening of September 21st to September 23rd.,In southern Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, there will be moderate to heavy rain, with very heavy rain and thunderstorms in some areas. Rainfall amounts will generally range from 70 to 150 mm, with some localized areas exceeding 200 mm. In northern Nghe An and Thanh Hoa provinces, there will be rain, with moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms in some areas.

This is due to the influence of the southwestern edge of the strengthening, then weakening, continental cold high-pressure ridge combined with the northern edge of the Tropical Convergence Zone with its axis passing through Central Vietnam; at higher altitudes, the subtropical high-pressure ridge encroaches westward.

This afternoon and tonight (September 21st), water levels on rivers in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces are rising, and a flood is expected. During this flood, the upper reaches of rivers in Ha Tinh province are likely to reach alarm level I - alarm level II, with some rivers exceeding alarm level II, while the lower reaches of rivers in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces will be close to alarm level I.

Warning: Heavy rainfall in a short period of time may cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, flooding in low-lying areas, and a high risk of landslides in the midland and mountainous regions.

The districts included in the alert zone are Tuong Duong, Ky Son, Que Phong, Quy Chau, Con Cuong, Anh Son, Quy Hop, Do Luong, Thanh Chuong, Tan Ky, and Nghia Dan.
